Basketry NSW has been invited by the Australian Design Centre (ADC) to showcase our diverse work in their Saturday Marketplace. The ADC is in the heart of Sydney and supports the work of craftspeople and designers.
We want everyone who enters ADC Marketplace to see and hear about the amazing basket weavers we have throughout NSW. As a member of Basketry NSW, we hope you will contribute to the Marketplace by making a basket that features your particular work and style. The ADC will provide 2 long tables to display our work, but wall space is unavailable for wall hangings
So that as many people as possible can contribute to the Marketplace please try to limit the size of the basket to 30cm x 30cm x 30cm. A variety of natural or synthetic materials to weave your basket is encouraged.
A dilemma often is ‘how much should I price the basket?’ This will be up to you to decide on the price with a minimum price of $50 and please include postage if you are mailing your work to us. Your name, price and mobile number should be on the basket. Your mobile number is for our records and won’t be given to the purchaser at the Marketplace.
How to get your basket to us? Basketry NSW’s meeting place is: Primrose Park Art and Craft Centre, Matora Lane off Young St, Cremorne.
Drop your basket off on either Sunday 4 May or Friday 9 May, between 10am and 3pm. Alternatively, mail it to Annie Mizon ensuring it arrives before 30 May.
Contact Annie on basketrynsw@gmail.com for postage details or if you have any questions or photos.
