Traditional & Modern

Our members are interested in, and use, a wide range of materials, including natural fibres and recycled and man-made materials. The resulting crafted artworks vary from functional vessels, sculptural forms and whimsical creations. Many of the more contemporary pieces are more sculptural shapes than traditional basket forms.  Often once our makers learn traditional basketry techniques, their creative juices take over and there is no limit to the wondrous shapes that can be produced.
